You choose the numeric grading scale for the average. These tools do not automatically translate grades between national or letter-based systems.

FAQ

Which calculation to choose

What to prepare

Prepare correct answers and full test length, or current grade, target and exam weight from the course rules.

Common mistake

An average of two grades ignores unequal weights. A required score above the maximum means the target is unattainable under those conditions.

FAQ

Why is there no conversion to a letter or five-point grade?

There is no automatic conversion between grading systems without a specified mapping. Test score has its own percentage tool; GPA averages entered numeric grades on their original scale, including a five-point scale.

Can I set a pass mark?

Test score percentage has an optional pass-mark field. When supplied, the result is compared with that entered threshold; the calculator does not assume a universal school rule.

What does exam weight mean?

The share the exam takes in the final grade. The rest comes from ongoing work, and the two add up to one hundred percent.

What if the required mark comes out above one hundred?

The target cannot be reached with that one exam. This is shown as a warning rather than an error, because the number itself tells you how big the gap is.
