Estimate whole laminate packs for a rectangular floor using the coverage printed on one pack and a reserve you choose. Net floor area and purchasing area remain separate so you can see what the reserve changes. Optional underlay cost uses net area, while laminate cost uses whole packs. This estimates purchase quantities without designing plank cuts, staggered joints or installation gaps.
How it works
Formula and logic
Floor area = length × width. Purchasing area = floor area × (1 + reserve/100); packs are rounded up after dividing by pack area. Cost includes whole laminate packs plus underlay for the net floor area, without applying the reserve percentage to underlay. All entered prices are RUB, with no currency exchange. Dimensions and pack area must be positive; reserve and prices must be non-negative. This aggregate rectangular model does not calculate plank cuts, the final row length, staggered joints, recesses or installation gaps. Subfloor tolerances and gaps come from the instructions for the selected flooring, not a universal calculator standard.
Example
A 5 × 4 m floor has 20 m²; 10% reserve gives 22 m². A 2.13 m² pack requires 11 whole packs. Underlay cost, if entered, uses the original 20 m².

How is floor area calculated?
Enter the room length and width; the calculator multiplies them to find the area to cover.
How are laminate packs estimated?
The calculator adds your reserve allowance to the floor area and divides by the area covered by one pack.
What does the reserve not account for?
Laminate reserve depends on board length, laying direction and whether offcuts can be reused. It increases the laminate purchasing area; underlay cost still uses net floor area. Check the row plan because a percentage alone does not calculate plank cuts.
Which area is used for laminate underlay cost?
Underlay cost uses the net floor area before laminate reserve. This does not round underlay to whole rolls or sheets; check their packaging separately.
